Custom Seminars

Organizations seeking customized training are encouraged to contact the IFM regarding in-house programming.

Cost varies depending upon the length of the program, degree of tailoring, and number of participants.

For more information, please contact Trish Foshee at 202.223.1528 or email tfoshee@theIFM.org.

Following are several of the custom seminars that the IFM has presented:

In-house Seminars for Market Users
In response to requests for customized training, the IFM has developed seminars that can be tailored to the learning needs of specific market users ( e.g., major banks, insurers, commodities dealers, endowments and foundations). Seminars typically last between one and two days. Basic terms, concepts, and market functions and institutions are covered, and case-study examples are tailored to the sponsoring organization's business. These courses focus on how the futures markets can be used effectively to manage risk in particular industries.

In-house Seminars for Futures Trading Support Staff
The IFM also tailors programs to meet the learning needs of employees who support the work of portfolio managers, brokers, and traders. Basic terms, concepts, and market functions are covered through the use of exercises and case-studies drawn from the experience of financial services firms.

Programs for Journalists
The IFM sponsors programs for the financial press through alliances with schools of journalism and professional writers' associations. In addition, members of the press have benefitted from attending the A Short Course on the Markets and Futures and Options Seminars open-enrollment courses.
