Seminar: This one-day program is designed as a "first look" at futures and options markets and introduces basic terminology and concepts of the exchange-traded market place in a non-technical way. Topics covered include:

  • What's traded?
  • How are futures and option contracts designed?
  • Who uses these markets and why?
  • How are contract prices determined?
  • The three basic applications: Speculation, arbitrage and hedging

Who Should Attend: This course is geared to new or prospective market users with little or no experience in the futures and options markets, new-hires in this segment of the financial services industry, and those seeking a better understanding of these markets as a way to enhance their dealings with futures/options colleagues or customers. This course provides an ideal introduction for staff from banks, corporate treasury offices, government agencies and insurance companies.

Class Size: Registration is limited to approximately 15 participants to promote student participation and interaction.
