Series 3 PassMaster
PassMaster is a Web tutorial and test simulator for the National Commodity Futures
Examination (Series 3). It is an asynchronous, e-learning program that compliments
the IFM's Series 3 text books -- Futures & Options and Guide to U.S. Futures
Regulation -- and together these self-study materials provide you with an
excellent blended learning experience.
The IFM's Series 3 PassMaster consists of two modules;
- The "tutorial" is a study module that draws from a bank of over 600 questions
that can be sorted by difficulty and exam topics. Questions are segregated
into two primary testing areas - market knowledge and regulation - and 10
subsections. The tutorial lets you demonstrate your knowledge and comprehension
of the content by answering both multiple choice and true/false questions. You
will receive immediate feedback after each question which reinforces learning
and retention. With the PassMaster tutorial you will able to identify
and focus on your weakest areas, and streamline your study time.
- The "practice test" is an exam module that offers an unlimited number
of timed-tests and simulates the experience of taking a Series 3 exam. Practice
tests closely resemble the actual exam in style and format, and each timed test
is 2 hours 30 minutes in duration. These tests are especially useful; it will
teach you how to mark questions for review, and how to budget and manage your
test-taking time, as if you were sitting for the real exam. At the conclusion
of the practice test your results will be scored like a Series 3 exam.
PassMaster is self-paced and allows you to customize study time and refine your test-taking skills. Topics include:
- Futures trading , theory and terminology
- Futures and options margin, price limits, delivery and cash settlement of futures contract
- Types of orders and customer accounts
- Basic hedging and basic calculations

- Applications of futures spread trading
