IFM and The Greenwood Project

The IFM is partnering with the Greenwood Project to exposed high-achieving Black and Latinx students to career opportunities within the financial industry.

The IFM is joining forces with The Greenwood Project to:

  • Co-sponsor a Greenwood Project scholar’s summer internship and training program;
  • Host Lunch & Learn sessions on futures and options with industry leaders and government officials for Greenwood Project scholars and;
  • Provide the Greenwood Project with training materials and support focused on derivatives markets.

 

 

From high school, through college to financial industry careers.

The Greenwood Project's summer financial institute for high school students provides an entrée into the financial industry and gives young people strong motivation to succeed in their remaining high school tenure and a compelling reason to attend college and pursue a futures in the derivates industry.

The Greenwood Project offers an an intensive ten-week Summer College Internship Program where college students train with for the first four weeks and later get placed with a firm for six weeks. All students receive summer training in the futures, options and equities markets. The internship program  program culminates with a "shark tank" style pitch competition and a funded brokerage account.

To date, more than 350 students have been through the Greenwood scholar program and 100% of the students have graduated from both high school and college. Furthermore, 75% of Greenwood's college interns later attain careers in financial services.
